Light and Shade

“Just living isn’t enough,” said the butterfly,
“one must also have freedom, sunshine and a little flower.”

“But I look up high to see only the light, and never look down to see my shadow. This is wisdom which man must learn.” – Song of the Flower XXIII

“For in the dew of little things
the heart finds its morning and is refreshed.”

A little collection of Kahlil Gibran for today sprinkled with huge doses of light and shade. These photos were taken this morning when I got home from a very stressful night at work. Driving past our front yard, I noticed the sun shining beautifully, parked the car, grabbed my camera and still in my scrubs, BAM, instant photos! Instant stress relief too for in those few minutes I was happily snapping away, I was absorbed in my own little world, wrapped in the warmth of the moment and completely forgot what I was stressing about over an hour ago.

“And forget not that the Earth delights to feel your bare feet
and the wind longs to play with your hair.”
