Quick Notes from the Road

20150614_094635This is my first time writing a post from my phone. A little awkward but it will do for now specially when you have over 300 plus miles more to go. And it helps when you’re not driving too.

Posting a photo in between paragraphs I’ve just learned is hard. For some reason it wants to stay at the very top of the page. So there you go up there. šŸ™‚

I am also trying to help my driver stay awake. He’s had water, soda, coffee and now an energy drink. So many more miles to go till our next rest stop. Ugh, blogging from my phone is hard. But its keeping me sane.

How do you entertain yourself while on the road?

Listening to music. Sleeping. Eating. Talking. Facebook. Taking road photos. And of course. blogging!

Anything else?

  1. So where are you off to this time? We’ve done books on tape a few times, but there’s always a difference in the types of books we select :). Road tripping is fun, we’ve done the 10hr trip to Toronto and back a zillion times to see family. I pack us a great lunch, a flash of tea, we don’t really stop for a picnic, but just eat as we drive. I think talk shows on the radio always keeps me awake when I drive :). If I could connect when I’m driving (don’t have those fancy phones), I guess, I’d be on sites like these, maybe FB, catch up on emails etc. Have a safe trip wherever you are headed.

  2. I ask my family ” If you could go to three countries, what would they be?, What is your all-time favourite place we have been and why? What is our funniest travel memory? Where would you live and why if it could be anywhere? – you get my drift.. it always is the travel game and boy do they groan about it now!!! šŸ™‚

    1. I can imagine kids groaning to that. Haha. I throw in a weird stupid question or statement to my hubby once in awhile or simply just start singing out loud to whatever song is playing on the radio and dance like crazy. Sometimes thats enough to embarrass him specially when there are vehicles beside us and can see me dancing! šŸ™‚

  3. I like to jam to music most of the time in the car. When I road tripped to Seattle, my two friends and I had plenty to talk about. So many weird conversations happened. By the time we were driving back home to Minnesota, we were no longer speaking coherently to each other, but it was wonderful. That said, there were a few times when I needed my introvert time, and in those moments I either tried to write some or tried to sleep, though sleeping usually didn’t work.

Travel safe, Belle. Can’t wait to hear about where this road takes you. šŸ™‚

    1. We’re back home now Britta. We went to Asheville then to Tampa for the weekend for my hubby’s birthday. Probably write about it, in between everything else that is going on with our travel nursing prep and stuff, hopefully soon. šŸ™‚ Sometimes its scary going on a road trip with friends because I’ve heard it can either make or break a friendship! I’m glad yours worked out.
      Thanks for stopping by! šŸ™‚

      1. Well, hope the trip went well even if the drive was long.
Yes, one of my other friends strongly encouraged us not to road trip with each other because he had a terrible road tripping experience a couple years ago. Our trip was wonderful, though. It only made our friendship stronger.
Glad to stop by, Belle. šŸ™‚
